On the cheap

I love the idea that you can do things to make your wedding more cost effective....actually who am I kidding. Not that I want o go over the top and saddle myself with major debt -i just think that stupid, but my wedding dress has to be the bomb. I mean THE BOMB!!!!

I think she looks great in the dress, but i have to say -I am soooo bored of the strapless wedding gown now. There are so many fabulous styles out there I just wish women would get more creative. I blame Victoria Beckham and all the bloody WAGs that followed.

Another one

So am now fully recovered from the hen shenanigans over the weekend, and am happily embracing the next wedding which is next year. Yep, next year. I'm bridesmaid for yet another lovely friend-who by all accounts is the most efficient bride on the planet so far.

I sure am hoping for a ring by the time I get to that wedding but I won't be holding my breath anytime soon.

I have saw this article today and just had a momentary moment of green eye- there's me hankering after one wedding and this greedy cow has had four!!!

Blooming heck love give the rest of us a chance to catch up. Saying that tho she did the marriage thing , she wasn't as thorough about the divorce bit.

Art imitating life

I was settled down to watch trash tv , and Comedy Central was showing back to back episodes of Sex and the City. the other half was lurking , in the shadows laughing and making silly comments (he's a straight male none of them are that keen). I was watching episode 4 in season six "Pick-a-Little , Talk-a-Little". Charlotte who is newly converted to Judaism and creates their first Shabbat meal together. harry has other plans and is far more interested in watching the Mets game. A huge row breaks out and Charlotte just looses it and ends screaming at Harry- "just set the date! set the date!!!".

God how I felt that moment of frustration.

It's not easy

Just finished watching this fab programme on Channel Four - "Revelations Muslims and Looking For Love".

I was always under the impression that Asian/Muslim women would find it easier to fnd a partner and settle down, well apparently that's not the case.

It's a brilliant insight into looking for love as a member of another culture.

Embarassed green eyed monster

So here's the deal, it only July and we're about to embark on our third wedding. Before the year is out we will have attended a grand total of 5, yep, five weddings!!! I've lost count of the number of weddings I've attended over the last 10 years. All of them have been joyous occasions, just not my joyous occasion.

Now I'm not a bitter old trout . Every time a close friend announces their fantastic news, I'm elated for them, but deep down inside a little bit of me dies, as I feel even further away from the prize.....

No I'm not single but in a long term relationship, so what am I moaning about?? He won't pop the question. Now I'm not going to lie and say it's all easy-black and white. If I'm honest , and I'll try to be things haven't been easy ( a Mommy dearest Nazi wannabe "mother in law, money etc) have all paid their toll. But after a lengthy period of time my patience is running out, as my circle of female friends becomes more like the marriage mafia every day.

It gets harder and harder to stay up bear as they move on to the next stage of their lives whilst I'm left on the platform , hoping for anything, divine intervention. Or maybe just a proposal
